Proposal: Clean & Green
Vision: Sustainable & eco-friendly enviroment in a rich cultural center of history with a large diversity of life.
· Objectives: Promote greenier city
· Solar panel – Convert light energy into usable electrical energy
· Wind mills – Wind is used to generate electricity using a electrical generator through a turbine that is turned through wind
· Compost – Organic wastes produced can be converted to useful fertilisers through bio-degradation.
· Motion Sensors – Automatically senses motion to switch on appliances(eg. Street lamps), thereby saving electricity when not in use
· Construction materials – Glass should be used wisely to reduce greenhouse effects. External surfaces should be shiny and white if possible to reflect off heat.
· Water catchment reservoirs – Large surface area of a water body/reservoir to catch rain, which can used for a variety of activites.
· Rooftop/Terrace/Community gardens – Reduces greenhouse gases and promotes greenery
Objectives: Provide area for flea market
1. Most proprietors of the flea market have no personal/work income, depending solely on the flea market business which yields profits enough to feed a person 3 meals
2. One-of-a-kind in Singapore
3. Mutual synergy of sucess between flea market and hardware shops
Objectives: Provide gathering place for all walks of life
· Local people from all ages and ethnic groups visit Sim Lim Tower for electronic needs
· Provides both expertise and affordable prices even for low-income citizens
· Convienient access in the future for tourists staying in Sim Lim Tower II to Singapore's heritage sites(eg. Little India, Kampong Glam).
· Future shopping centre for all ages
· Scenic park for leisure and outdoor activites
