Proposal: Sustainability

Vision: Striving towards sustainability in terms of environment (land) and food.

Mission: To turn Lorong Halus into a people centered area whereby one can have fun and learn at the same time.

Our inspiration is derived from a cycle that includes a production, consumption and processing phase. The basic fundamentals led us to segregating our large amount of land space into four different zones, in which different animals and plants are grown. They all play an integral part of farming a sustainable industry because we do not have to largely depend on fertilizers (i.e. chemicals) because of the presence of biomass created from the waste of the industries.

Apart from the agriculture facilities, the industry also consists of recreational elements. This includes man-made waterways, chalets and camping sites, which serve a greater purpose in allowing visitors to experience the cycle of food, while they have fun at the same time. The fun aspect of this industry will serve as the main attraction to bring the community together. In this way, stronger social bonds may be formed and greater awareness may be achieved.

Once again, we strive to build the notion that food and land can be recycled to ensure these resources last longer, and hope to create a greater appreciation of food, instilled within the people. We can then stress the need to have a self-sustainable industry that does not destroy the land.
